A Crises Control Case Study
Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, which delivers acute and community services across Exeter and East and Mid Devon with around 8,000 staff, faced repeated delays when mobilising its out-of-hours inter-hospital transfer team for time-critical patient moves. Limited notice, reduced overnight staffing and the need to phone multiple clinicians created logistical challenges and risked spreading onsite staff more thinly. To address this, the Trust deployed the Crises Control platform for mass notifications and incident communications.
Crises Control enabled one‑button activation of the voluntary transfer team using phone calls, SMS and push notifications, while the administrator can see who received alerts, record responses and track arrival and in‑transfer safety in real time. The Trust reports faster activation and improved team communication and response times, reduced mobilisation delays and less disruption to onsite staffing, supported by Crises Control’s account team and 24/7 helpdesk.
