Socialtyze partnered with a major movie studio to find a more efficient way to buy Facebook fans across six nationwide film releases. Starting in March 2014 they ran a large-scale test—over $2.4M in spend and 10M+ clicks—using keywords derived from Crimson Hexagon’s social listening and Affinities™ visualization to identify the real interests of people talking about the films.
Using Affinities to surface high‑value interests, Socialtyze’s analysts recommended keywords and media buyers targeted and optimized ads against those audiences. The affinity-driven keywords delivered a 16% higher CTR than campaign averages, outperformed 10 other keyword categories (placing 2nd of 12), beat Facebook Audience Insights by 31% for CTR, and produced examples of up to a 32% uplift over campaign averages—demonstrating a clear boost in ad efficiency.
