Talbot Specialist School boosts literacy engagement with Crick Software

Talbot Specialist School, a secondary specialist school for cognition and learning difficulties, sought a more effective literacy support tool for its students. The school had prior experience with an older version of Crick Software's Clicker but wanted to explore the capabilities of the latest version to better meet the diverse needs of its learners.

Crick Software provided training and demonstrated Clicker's new features, leading to a school-wide implementation. The solution was used to create bespoke resources for speech and language therapy, give a voice to non-verbal students, and support creative writing and planning. The results included increased student confidence, engagement, and the beginnings of verbal communication for some. The school reported that Clicker had a significant impact on literacy and engagement for all students, both with and without additional needs, and became a persuasive tool for convincing other schools to upgrade.
