Skyline High School - Customer Case Study

Skyline High School, a Colorado special education school serving students in grades 9–12 with significant needs, was looking for flexible ways to support communication and literacy development. Working with Crick Software’s Clicker, teacher Aeshia Grine needed a tool that could help her assess and build speaking skills for a non-verbal student with autism, while also supporting basic reading skills for another student.

Using Crick Software’s Clicker, she created customized speaking, listening, and matching activities with pictures, words, and audio support. The solution let students record their own voices, compare model recordings, and match images to written words, with differentiation built in for varied ability levels. As a result, John began engaging with speaking activities and hearing his own voice, while Josh improved word recognition and vocabulary; the teacher also noted that the same tool could support all students across a wide range of needs.
