A Crick Software Case Study
Manor Academy, a secondary special education school in Sale, England, needed a way to support students with moderate learning difficulties and autism who were struggling with reading and writing due to challenges such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and fine and gross motor difficulties. The school turned to Crick Software’s Clicker 7 to provide a flexible, accessible writing and literacy tool for a wide range of learning needs.
With Crick Software’s Clicker 7, Manor Academy created tailored activities such as sentence building, sequencing, character exploration, and topic-based work, using features like background color and font options, CrickPix images, Clicker Board planning, and Voice Notes. The result was greater student independence, improved confidence, and stronger participation in English and across subjects, including one student who progressed from not being able to use a keyboard in 6th grade to independently planning and writing work in 8th grade.
