Kelvin Hall School - Customer Case Study

Kelvin Hall School in Hull, England, wanted a better way to help students with special educational needs, including dyslexia and those learning English as an additional language, access the science curriculum. Science teacher Jon Hickman introduced Crick Software’s Clicker after being shown it by a mentor, and the school began using Clicker apps on iPads and licenses on computers to support learning across devices.

Crick Software’s Clicker helped the school create quick, subject-specific differentiated resources, including talking books, vocabulary banks, sentence starters, speech feedback, and word prediction. The result was significantly improved literacy skills, faster and more detailed written work, and greater independence; one student with severe learning difficulties and EAL is now exceeding his target and more engaged in science. The school also noted that resources that once took hours to create can now be made in minutes, and they plan to expand Clicker across the whole site.
