Case Study: Forehill Primary School boosts writing confidence and independence with Crick Software’s Clicker

A Crick Software Case Study

Forehill Primary School boosts writing independence over 8 years with Crick Software

Forehill Primary School, a primary school in Ayr, Scotland, sought to provide better support for dyslexic learners, pupils with Additional Support Needs (ASN), and those with general literacy challenges. Their challenge was to help these students access the same classwork and writing tasks as their peers while building confidence and achieving independence. They turned to Crick Software and implemented its product, Clicker.

The solution from Crick Software involved using Clicker's tools, such as Clicker Board for mind maps, word banks, and speech feedback, to create tailored support for individual learners and targeted groups. The results were significant, with pupils gaining independence, increased confidence, and the ability to successfully complete writing tasks. Measurable impacts included children progressing from being unable to write to constructing sentences and paragraphs independently, with some even transferring these new skills to handwritten work.
