Case Study: NSK achieves £1.5M annual IT savings and £5M stock reduction with CrescentOne

A CrescentOne Case Study

Preview of the NSK Case Study

NSK - Customer Case Study

NSK, the century-old Japanese bearing manufacturer, faced the challenge of unifying systems after a European merger and needed an integrated Oracle/UNIX-based ERP across multiple plants — including replacing manufacturing systems at five UK sites within 18 months. After a tender process, NSK selected CrescentOne and its ERP product, glovia.com, because it could be shaped to fit existing processes and uniquely handled NSK’s 27-character part referencing without modification.

CrescentOne implemented glovia.com, linking the ERP to NSK’s IBM mainframe order system and PROIV shop‑floor data collection, rolling out 500 users across Europe (one plant in Poland in six months) and extending control to aerospace and electronic power‑assisted steering production. The CrescentOne deployment delivered real‑time production data, cut external IT support costs by about £1.5 million per year, reduced stock holdings by £5 million, shortened lead times and strengthened cost, delivery and quality control.
