A Cresa Case Study
Obscura Digital, a San Francisco–based technology company that builds large‑scale projection systems, needed to relocate from a 36,000 sq. ft. space while remaining highly cost sensitive as a non‑VC‑backed firm. Because their work requires tall ceiling heights, they engaged Cresa for Location Strategy & Economic Incentives and Transaction Management to find a suitable, affordable facility.
Cresa secured a new Pier 70 facility of just under 25,000 sq. ft., reducing Obscura Digital’s footprint while increasing ceiling heights from 36 ft to 66 ft so the company could gain usable volume without more square footage. The move enabled more efficient use of space for their projection business and helped control real estate costs, delivering measurable results (≈11,000 sq. ft. smaller footprint and significantly higher ceiling volume) through Cresa’s transaction and location strategy work.
