Not-for-Profit School Looking to Expand in Current Market

Soaring Eagle Academy, a Chicago-based nonprofit school, needed to expand into a new 30,000 sq. ft. facility that would support growth while improving student safety (including exclusive drop-off points) and provide a space designed to enhance the educational experience. The academy engaged Cresa for Location Strategy & Economic Incentives and Transaction Management to identify and secure the right location.

Cresa negotiated a rent structure and a work allowance sufficient for the build-out, secured a special use permit from the local municipality, and worked with the landlord to deliver base building HVAC upgrades and a new road connecting two parking areas to create safe student pick-up and drop-off. As a result, Soaring Eagle Academy obtained a compliant, safety-improved 30,000 sq. ft. facility that met its operational and educational objectives.
