A Cresa Case Study
MEG Energy, an energy company based in Calgary, faced a major space-planning challenge: its analysis showed it required roughly 300,000 sq. ft. immediately and long-term, and the building it occupied could not accommodate growth beyond 2019. MEG engaged Cresa for Transaction Management and Consulting to analyze utilization, forecast needs, and develop a strategic real estate plan.
Cresa provided a comprehensive market review and recommended a newly constructed solution—Eau Claire Tower—which matched MEG’s geographic requirements and delivered a contiguous 296,159 sq. ft. footprint. Cresa negotiated key concessions including building naming rights and 5- and 10-year expansion options and rights throughout the building, securing MEG Energy’s ability to grow in place and meeting its ~300,000 sq. ft. space requirement.
