Expanding a Start-Up company to Meet the Demand

Rent the Runway faced rapid growth and needed a new West/Northwest distribution center after outgrowing a 200,000 sq. ft. facility in Secaucus, NJ. To meet strict requirements — roughly 400,000 SF, heavy power and water needs, 600 employees (parking), 36' clear height, and proximity to UPS/FedEx — Rent the Runway engaged Cresa for transaction management, location strategy & economic incentives, and project management.

Cresa assembled a cross-functional team (brokers, project management, telecommunications, and Cresa Consulting Group) to advise on site selection, design/layout, labor studies, incentives negotiation and telecom/real estate issues. Cresa’s work resulted in a new operation center at 1111 West Bardin Road in Arlington, Texas — 319,000 SF with expansion capacity to 400,000 SF, 16,000 SF of office/call center, a fully air-conditioned production area, and a distribution facility that will house over 1,000 employees, becoming the largest dry‑cleaning facility in the world by 2019.
