A Creative Solution to a Complex Problem

Trimble, a technology company expanding beyond Silicon Valley, wanted a strategic new presence in Northern Colorado but faced a shortage of available space that matched its growth projections. Cresa was engaged to provide Location Strategy & Economic Incentives and Transaction Management to find a scalable, long-term solution rather than settling for an undersized existing building.

Cresa negotiated the purchase of 15 acres (with an option to buy 15 more at the agreed price) and managed a three‑phase development that broke ground on phase two in 2017, creating a Denver HQ of about 135,000 sq. ft. As a result Trimble grew from 40 employees in Colorado to more than 600, and by owning their facility — a deal structured by Cresa — they realized a 72% reduction in operating expenses.
