Walgreens reduces energy use with Cree Lighting in new Goodyear store

Walgreens, in line with its PURE corporate sustainability program, sought to reduce energy consumption and its carbon footprint for three new stores, including a location in Goodyear, Arizona. The challenge was to achieve these sustainability goals while also lowering the total cost of ownership. For this initiative, Walgreens turned to the vendor Cree Lighting for an LED lighting solution.

Cree Lighting implemented its CR Series LED troffers in the new store. This solution from Cree helped Walgreens further its mission of social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The new lighting provided a more inviting shopping experience for customers, reduced the store's carbon footprint, and lowered the total cost of ownership.
