Village of Wind Point upgrades 140-year-old Wind Point Lighthouse with Cree Lighting

The Village of Wind Point, caretaker of the historic Wind Point Lighthouse, sought a lighting upgrade to reduce energy and maintenance costs for the nearly 140-year-old landmark. The challenge was to achieve these savings without compromising the quality of illumination for this important regional beacon. They partnered with Cree Lighting for an LED solution.

Cree Lighting implemented an LED lighting system to replace the lighthouse's outdated metal halide floodlights. The new solution provided the required high-quality illumination for the historic structure. This upgrade from Cree Lighting helped the Village save on energy and maintenance dollars, allowing those funds to be diverted to other preservation efforts as they work toward making the lighthouse financially self-sufficient.
