University of Washington upgrades 80,000-square-foot Dempsey Indoor Center lighting with Cree Lighting

The University of Washington needed a lighting upgrade for its heavily used Dempsey Indoor Center, an 80,000-square-foot athletic facility. The challenge was to improve light coverage for both athlete performance and fan experience while also increasing energy efficiency. The university partnered with vendor Cree Lighting for this project.

Cree Lighting implemented its HXB Series high-bay luminaires as the solution. This provided the facility with superior lighting coverage for various sports and events. The results included a significant increase in the amount of light throughout the center alongside improved energy efficiency for the university.
