Milwaukee School of Engineering builds one of the first 100% LED-lit competitive athletic fields with Cree Lighting

The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) faced the challenge of designing a new, sustainable athletic field built atop a parking deck in downtown Milwaukee. For the lighting of Viets Field, MSOE engineers turned to vendor Cree Lighting to provide high-quality LED illumination for the competitive soccer facility.

Cree Lighting implemented a 100 percent LED lighting solution for both the athletic field and the parking deck. The results included better illumination and enhanced security, along with reduced maintenance needs, helping MSOE set a new standard for sustainability with one of the first all-LED-lit competitive athletic fields in the country.
