Creative Navy worked with Typewise, a mobile keyboard application featuring a unique hexagonal key layout and gesture-based interaction model. The customer's challenge was to improve user adoption and performance, overcoming the strategic hurdle of getting users to switch from and stick with their product over the familiar iOS native keyboard.

The solution implemented by Creative Navy involved a reframing of the problem space, preserving the valuable hexagonal layout, and aggressively optimizing other elements like the suggestion bar to save space. Creative Navy conducted a controlled experiment with 60 users, which demonstrated that the redesigned Typewise keyboard halved error rates and increased typing speed from 38 to 47 words per minute against the iOS native baseline.
