A Creative Concern Case Study
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council faced the challenge of outdated perceptions and a lack of brand recognition that failed to reflect the borough's true identity and many strengths. To attract new residents, workers, and investors, they needed to build civic pride and increase its profile. They engaged the vendor Creative Concern to develop a new place branding strategy.
Creative Concern created a flexible and people-centric place brand rooted in extensive local engagement. The solution included a visual identity inspired by the River Tees, a suite of logos, a dynamic color palette, and a tone of voice that led with the line "STOCKTON-ON-TEES. MADE HERE." This new brand was designed to be nurtured and embraced by the local community to showcase the area's uniqueness, energy, and ambition.
