Clickdrive.io Fleet Tracking Using CrateDB

Clickdrive, an internet-enabled onboard vehicle monitoring provider, needed to store and analyze an "unbelievable torrent of data" from commercial fleets—up to 2,000 data points per car per second—to enable real-time tracking and predictive maintenance. To solve this scale and performance challenge, Clickdrive deployed Crate.io’s CrateDB as part of its IoT stack.

Using CrateDB from Crate.io, Clickdrive ingests and queries vehicle and environmental data in real time, applies machine learning to predict malfunctions, and can even build 3D accident reconstructions. Within three months one customer saw issues identified in 50% of vehicles that had been previously unknown, and maintenance costs fell by up to 20%.
