Case Study: Norton Motorcycles improves torque data management with Crane Electronics

A Crane Electronics Group Case Study

Norton Motorcycles speeds production efficiency and cuts new-operator training with Crane Electronics Group

Crane Electronics Group implemented a production torque data management process for Norton Motorcycles, a British luxury motorcycle manufacturer. The customer's challenge was to enhance the integrity of its hand-built manufacturing process by introducing a cost-effective, digital torque data collection system to improve traceability and quality assurance.

The solution from Crane Electronics involved introducing a range of WrenchStar Multi digital torque wrenches and TCI controllers. This provided Norton Motorcycles with the ability to accurately measure and digitally record critical assembly data. The implementation increased production efficiency by allowing new operators to be integrated into the production line more quickly and with less training.
