The UK-based Tier 1 automotive component supplier, a major manufacturer of car seat frames, required a solution to improve the efficiency of its quality auditing process. The challenge involved speeding up torque measurement on seat fastenings and creating a better system for recording and transferring that data to various car manufacturers. Crane Electronics Group implemented a solution utilizing their WrenchStar Multi digital torque wrenches, IQVu data collectors, and their proprietary OMS software. This system automated data collection and reporting, which had previously been done manually. The results were immediate, with the customer's engineers saving significant time during audits. The new process also provided the car manufacturers with complete transparency and traceability of the production data.
