Preview of the CES Europe Ltd Case Study

Developing a wheel impact gun torque and performance testing solution for CES Europe Ltd

CES Europe Ltd, a leading UK supplier of pit lane equipment for motorsport, needed a new testing solution to prove the speed and accuracy of their impact wheel guns to customers like Formula 1 teams. Their challenge was to demonstrate that the tools could achieve a specified high torque within a strict time limit and provide a verifiable trace graph. They engaged Crane Electronics Group to develop this solution.

Crane Electronics developed a custom stand-alone test unit incorporating high-torque static transducers, joint kits, and their TorqueStar Pro data collector with tailored OMS Lite software. The solution successfully measured 500Nm in just 0.7 seconds, providing CES with the data to physically demonstrate their tools' elite performance. Crane Electronics' solution was so effective that CES displayed it at a major industry exhibition to showcase the proven capabilities of their equipment.
