Crafter CMS Enables Modern Digital Experiences for Life Insurance Leader

Penn Mutual, one of the oldest mutual life insurers in the United States, needed to replace its costly legacy CMS for its public website and support modern digital experiences across multiple channels. The company wanted a future-proof, cloud-native platform that could appeal to Java and JavaScript developers, work well with AWS, and support both headless and traditional CMS use cases.

Penn Mutual chose Crafter Software’s Crafter CMS as a headless+ content management platform, deployed on AWS and integrated with its existing React-based application. Crafter Software enabled Penn Mutual to reuse much of its existing SPA code, add custom REST APIs, and give content authors in-context preview and WYSIWYG editing. As a result, Penn Mutual improved content publishing, accelerated development cycles, supported CI/CD practices, and gained a flexible platform for creating new digital experiences with less effort.
