Svitzer Uses Cradlepoint Solutions to Deliver Robust Connectivity to its Global Maritime Fleet

Svitzer Marine, the Maersk Group towage and emergency-response business with a 430-vessel global fleet, needed to standardize ship-to-shore communications and enable always‑on on-board ICT so the entire distributed network could be managed from a single central location. To solve variable 3G/4G/LTE implementations, connectivity failover and security at sea, Svitzer engaged Cradlepoint and evaluated its ruggedized COR Series (including the COR IBR1100), NetCloud Manager and Zscaler Internet Security.

Cradlepoint delivered a cloud‑managed networking solution—rugged COR Series routers for multi‑carrier 4G/LTE, NetCloud Manager for centralized deployment and remote troubleshooting, and Zscaler for standardized security—allowing Svitzer Marine to roll out modern ICT across its global fleet in just over 12 months. The Cradlepoint deployment boosted on‑board application performance, increased fleet uptime and productivity, minimized downtime for users, and materially reduced the IT support resources required to maintain business continuity.
