Oregon Police Department Uses Cradlepoint for Increased Reliability & Improved Management of In-Vehicle Networks

The Oregon Police Department, serving Medford, Oregon (population ~75,000), was struggling with frequent loss of in-vehicle cellular connectivity after a carrier change, leaving officers unable to receive dispatches, write citations, or run routine checks. To address unreliable carrier devices and limited central management, the department turned to Cradlepoint, deploying CRADLEPOINT COR Series routers with NetCloud Manager for in-vehicle networking.

Cradlepoint installed COR Series platforms and used NetCloud Manager for centralized monitoring, remote firmware updates, and faster diagnostics; the devices are wired into cruiser power, GPS-capable, and project WiFi for tablet use. As a result, service calls about connectivity dropped “almost to zero,” uptime improved significantly, and troubleshooting time was shortened by logging into NetCloud Manager to verify vehicle status — demonstrating clear operational and management gains from Cradlepoint.
