North Kansas City School Buses Add WiFi Powered by Cradlepoint Solutions

North Kansas City Schools faced the challenge of lost instructional time when students spent long periods traveling to field trips and extracurricular events. They explored adding bus WiFi and turned to Cradlepoint, selecting the Cradlepoint COR Series with embedded 4G LTE to make on-the-road learning possible.

Cradlepoint deployed COR Series 4G LTE routers on four activity buses, delivering a robust WiFi signal that reached about 200 yards and supported at least 22 students streaming video simultaneously; connections are limited to district-issued MacBook Airs and routed through district servers for security. The Cradlepoint solution let students use transit time for coursework, research and online classes—recapturing instructional minutes and improving readiness for hands-on and advanced-level courses.
