A Cradlepoint Case Study
Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the nation’s second-largest district serving more than 734,641 students across over 1,302 schools, faced widespread connectivity gaps at administrative and school sites, plus a critical need for uninterrupted access for Smarter Balanced Assessment testing and growing classroom device use. After a competitive bid process, the district selected Cradlepoint and its NetCloud Service for Branch and Mobile to address primary routing, failover, in‑vehicle networks and Out‑of‑Band Management.
Cradlepoint deployed NetCloud Service with purpose-built LTE adapters, NetCloud Manager, Out‑of‑Band Management, 24x7 support and in‑vehicle solutions for school buses, delivering instant failover, cloud configuration and simplified fleet-wide management. The implementation allowed LAUSD to rapidly provision devices using templates, maintain continuity across its 710‑square‑mile footprint during fiber outages, and keep thousands of students and staff connected for testing and everyday instruction.
