Case Study: Iotatel achieves 10× improved, cloud-managed remote connectivity for forestry camps with Cradlepoint

A Cradlepoint Case Study

Preview of the Iotatel Case Study

Iotatel Inc. Provides Reliable Network Connectivity Solution for Forestry Camps in Canada

Iotatel is a Vancouver Island–based start-up that provides network connectivity for remote forestry and logging camps and is backed by FPInnovations. Facing semi‑remote sites with no wired Internet, inadequate USB cellular modems and low‑powered access points, Iotatel needed a rugged, reliable 4G LTE routing solution that could withstand harsh conditions, provide wide coverage across large yards, and be managed remotely—so they selected Cradlepoint’s COR IBR900 and NetCloud Manager.

Cradlepoint implemented COR IBR900 routers as the Internet gateway (with point‑to‑point microwave links and WiFi access points for site coverage) and NetCloud Manager for single‑pane remote management, plus the option to add Extensibility Docks later for extra modems/bandwidth. The Cradlepoint solution delivered measurable results—network performance improved by 10x or more, packet loss and dropouts were resolved, remote monitoring simplified operations, and Cradlepoint’s 24x7 support ensured rapid issue resolution.
