A Cradlepoint Case Study
Sabinal Energy, an oil and gas E&P operating across roughly 200,000 acres in the Permian Basin, needed reliable, low‑latency connectivity after centralizing its SCADA servers at headquarters and seeing remote office bandwidth and uptime demands spike—exacerbated by increased video conferencing during COVID-19. To solve this, Sabinal Energy turned to Cradlepoint and its NetCloud Service for Branch, deploying wireless edge routers with 5G adapters on the T‑Mobile network to replace insufficient T1 and satellite links.
Cradlepoint implemented a cloud-managed Wireless WAN with NetCloud Manager, built-in security (firewall, IPS/IDS, VPN), multi‑modem dual‑carrier failover and load balancing, and 24x7 support. The deployment delivered consistent performance — typically 200–500 Mbps with latency under 40 ms — higher uptime and centralized remote management, enabling Sabinal Energy to reliably access SCADA data and reduce on-site troubleshooting.
