Duval County Schools Improve Learning with Always-Connected Technologies

Duval County Public Schools (DCPS), the 20th largest U.S. school district with nearly 170 sites, was hampered by a decade‑old backup network that regularly failed, delaying failover, undermining a VoIP rollout, jeopardizing computer‑based state testing windows, and limiting VPN access for hospital/homebound students. To solve these issues the district selected Cradlepoint’s NetCloud Service for Branch (including CR4250 routers).

Cradlepoint deployed CR4250 routers with NetCloud Manager, 24x7 support and wired‑line failover so traffic automatically switches to the backup link without intervention. The Cradlepoint solution delivered seamless connectivity across ~170 sites, enabled reliable VoIP and testing, preserved VPN access for remote students, and reduced IT troubleshooting time (saving at least ~20 minutes per outage), removing testing‑window risks and easing operational burden.
