Dallas County Elects to Use All-Cellular WAN Connectivity at Hundreds of Vote Centers

Dallas County needed a fast, secure way to provide legally mandated redundant network connectivity at nearly 500 temporary vote centers, while replacing unreliable consumer MiFis and working under a tight timeline. To meet those requirements, the county turned to Cradlepoint and its NetCloud Service for Branch with LTE‑enabled wireless edge routers to deliver enterprise-grade WAN redundancy, security, and centralized management.

Cradlepoint deployed preconfigured, zero‑touch routers—each with two modems and multi‑carrier failover—across almost 500 sites, giving Dallas County constant uptime, low latency, and the redundancy required by law. Managed through Cradlepoint NetCloud Manager, the solution simplified rollout and night‑of monitoring, added scalable VPN/UTM/IPS‑IDS security, and enabled centralized troubleshooting and carrier flexibility, allowing the county to meet election security and availability goals.
