Case Study: Sloan Security Group achieves reliable shared WiFi for remote crews with Cradlepoint

A Cradlepoint Case Study

Preview of the Sloan Security Group Case Study

Creating Wifi for Employees’ Mission-Critical Applications in Challenging Environments

Sloan Security Group, a nationwide provider of physical security systems that often deploys crews to extremely remote sites (for example along the U.S./Mexico border), faced chronic lack of wired Internet. Employees had to share a single air card and wait their turn to access a web-based project management system, causing delays and compatibility problems — so the company turned to Cradlepoint and its 3G/4G/LTE wireless router (Primary Connect) as a cellular broadband alternative.

Cradlepoint supplied and Sloan Security Group deployed a compact Cradlepoint 3G/4G/LTE router in field trailers, creating a shared WiFi network so multiple crew members could log in simultaneously. The Cradlepoint solution was easy to set up, delivered fast page loads even in weak-signal, hostile conditions, reported “zero problems” at two sites, eliminated queuing for Internet access, provided automatic failover at headquarters, and increased field productivity — prompting plans to add more Cradlepoint units.
