Cradlepoint’s Solutions Allow Response Team to Hit the Ground Running with Disaster Recovery

ResponseForce1 (RF1), a contracting organization that supports FEMA and other agencies in disaster recovery, faced a critical challenge after Super Typhoon YuTu: no communications on Saipan, Guam, and Tinian and few resources to deploy a network while being required onsite within 24 hours and fully operational within 72. To address this, RF1 used Cradlepoint’s NetCloud Service for Mobile delivered via LTE‑embedded routers in transportable field units.

Cradlepoint deployed five NetCloud‑powered mobile units (including LTE routers, WiFi, GPS, NetCloud Manager remote management, 24x7 support and warranty), which restored connectivity in just a few hours, enabled the FEMA airbridge, and sustained months‑long recovery operations. The Cradlepoint solution provided reliable bandwidth for RF1’s TripWire tracking, email and WhatsApp communications, and allowed coordination of flights, generator distribution, and personnel and supplies across the islands.
