VIA Metropolitan Transit in San Antonio needed to replace aging 3G wireless on part of its fleet with reliable, easy-to-manage 4G LTE WiFi across buses, paratransit vans and passenger facilities. Working with Cradlepoint and using the COR Series with NetCloud Manager, VIA sought a cost-effective, remotely manageable solution to modernize connectivity for riders and operations.

Cradlepoint delivered the COR Series with NetCloud Manager and a repeatable deployment template that let VIA install 769 platforms in about 30 days, putting 4G LTE WiFi on every vehicle and facility and turning up service in hours instead of months. Cradlepoint’s cloud management centralized monitoring/configuration, enabled remote updates and analytics, and gave VIA more reliable connectivity and the ability to scale additional in-vehicle applications.
