A Cradlepoint Case Study
McConnell Dowell, a construction and engineering company, needed reliable, rapidly deployable connectivity for seven remote project offices while re‑gauging 1,000 km of rail so on‑site designers and engineers could send large files and access SharePoint Online. To meet requirements for rugged hardware, dual‑modem/carrier‑agnostic capability, and minimal IT intervention, McConnell Dowell selected Cradlepoint’s NetCloud Service for Branch (including NetCloud Manager and purpose‑built primary routers with embedded LTE).
Cradlepoint deployed its NetCloud Service, routers with dual‑SIM/dual‑4G modems, SD‑WAN and cloud management to enable fast remote provisioning, traffic steering to the cloud, and carrier failover. The solution delivered measurable results: a 30‑day pilot logged 99.9% 4GX WAN uptime while exchanging up to 1.5 TB of data, sites that once took up to 12 weeks to provision were up and running in hours, and carrier failover and remote reconfiguration have been used successfully on multiple occasions.
