A CR2 Case Study

Preview of the CRDB Bank Case Study

CRDB Bank - Customer Case Study

CR2 worked with CRDB Bank, a leading Tanzanian bank with 1 million customers, to address the challenge of serving a highly dispersed, largely rural population with very limited access to financial services. Using CR2’s BankWorld self-service banking platform and POS capabilities, CRDB aimed to extend banking beyond branches and reach the unbanked through agency banking.

CR2 implemented a BankWorld-powered agency banking network, branded locally as “fahariHuduma,” enabling cash withdrawals and deposits, cardless deposits, bill payments, balance enquiries, and forced PIN changes through agents using POS devices and GPRS/Ethernet connectivity. The solution delivered fast customer acquisition, lower costs to serve remote areas, improved customer satisfaction, and increased revenue through higher transaction volumes, while also helping CRDB leverage existing infrastructure more efficiently.
