A Coviu Case Study
EdHealth Australia, led by Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator Jayne Lehmann, faced the challenge of training and assessing disability support workers in diabetes care—including blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration—across Australia when in-person evaluation wasn’t possible. Jayne adopted the Coviu telehealth platform to remotely observe and evaluate practical skills, solving the key barrier to scaling her established three‑module online training program.
Using Coviu to run small-group, live skills assessments alongside person‑centred Diabetes Management Plans, EdHealth Australia has been able to deliver NDIS‑funded services nationwide in all states and territories, meet increased demand during COVID‑19, and progress licensing talks to replicate the model more widely. Coviu’s remote assessment capability provided the missing infrastructure to scale the program across Australia, improving access to diabetes care for people with intellectual disability.
