Carnegie Mellon University Puts Diplomat MFT’s Flexibility to the Test

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) needed a managed file transfer solution that could support twenty different departments with varied on-premises and cloud-based applications, while securely handling daily, weekly, monthly, ad hoc, and event-driven transfers. The university also needed strong visibility, reporting, and compliance support for sensitive student, medical, and payment data. CMU chose Coviant Software’s Diplomat MFT Enterprise Edition to meet these requirements.

Coviant Software implemented Diplomat MFT with flexible integrations, built-in PGP encryption, SFTP transport, and full auditability to automate CMU’s diverse file transfer workload. The result was a single solution that reliably handles transfers across the university, improves productivity, and provides quick troubleshooting support when issues arise. While the case study does not cite a numeric ROI, CMU reported that Diplomat MFT “did everything we asked of it right out of the door.”
