Tarwin Veterinary Group, a long-standing multi-vet practice serving over 3,300 km² in South Gippsland with 19 vets and 24 admin staff across three sites, faced checkout inefficiencies and reconciliation delays caused by a non-integrated EFTPOS terminal that required manual entry of payment amounts and often delayed paper statements. As a VisionVPM veterinary practice management software subscriber, they explored an integrated payments option and worked with Covetrus Software Services to address these issues.

Covetrus Software Services implemented VisionVPM integration with an IP-based Tyro terminal and merchant reporting portal, and helped configure a terminal server setup plus four separate site settlements with site names on bank statements. The result: manual keying errors were eliminated, daily auto-settlement removed the need for manual end-of-day processing, and real-time transaction reporting sped up reconciliation (no longer waiting up to nine days), delivering smoother, more efficient multi-site operations.
