GXO solves apparel picking challenges with the KNAPP Pick-It-Easy Robot, powered by Covariant

GXO, a leading global 3PL, was looking for a way to automate apparel picking and pocket induction at its fashion ecommerce warehouse in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The challenge was handling a wide range of apparel items efficiently, especially during peak periods, while reducing strain on employees.

To solve this, GXO deployed the KNAPP Pick-it-Easy Robot, powered by Covariant’s Covariant Brain, to pick items and automatically fill sorter pockets. The solution improved performance and flexibility for returns and fast-moving or discounted items, while maintaining barcode readability and high allocation accuracy. Covariant’s AI helped the system handle diverse apparel products reliably, supporting GXO’s plan to expand the deployment with additional robots.
