How ECO Cannabis turned a unique vision into a memorable dispensary experience

ECO Cannabis, founded by Kevin Ahaesy, set out to fix the typical Oakland dispensary problems of long wait times, “take-a-number” queues, and underinformed budtenders by creating a modern, boutique-style retail experience with better customer service and a POS that could park and queue orders. After talking to several providers, ECO partnered with Cova to deliver the customer-centric point-of-sale functionality Ahaesy envisioned.

Cova developed and implemented a customer-queueing function and express checkout within its tablet-based POS used by ECO’s Experience Guides, allowing customers to check in, browse while orders are parked and fulfilled, and then complete a fast checkout. The result: smoother dispensary flow, more personalized recommendations from knowledgeable guides, and a reduction in customer wait times to about one-third of traditional dispensaries, according to Ahaesy.
