University of Southern Mississippi drives workforce readiness with Coursera, reaching 900+ enrollments and a 4.3/5 rating

The University of Southern Mississippi identified a need to improve digital fluency and career-aligned skills for its 13,500 students and staff. To address evolving workforce demands and create flexible learning pathways in a scalable way, USM partnered with the vendor Coursera and chose their Coursera for Campus solution.

Coursera implemented a bottom-up integration model, embedding content into the curriculum via LMS integration and linking staff development to salary incentives. This approach resulted in over 900 total enrollments and 230 course completions within six months, alongside a 4.3/5 learner rating. The measurable impact included enhanced workforce readiness through Career Services partnerships and a sustainable, campus-wide culture of skill development driven by Coursera.
