Hospitable automates communication between hosts and guests using Courier

Hospitable.com, a vacation rental management platform founded in 2016, needed a reliable way to automate the many product notifications it sends between hosts and guests across Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo. After attempting to build its own system in-house, the team found their notification tooling was costly to maintain, hard to scale, and increasingly difficult to keep aligned with branding and compliance needs. They turned to Courier, especially because of its Segment integration and focus on transactional product messaging for SaaS.

With Courier, Hospitable.com replaced its in-house “Churchill” system and moved notification creation and delivery into a low-maintenance platform that could trigger messages from Segment events. Courier helped the team reduce engineering overhead, speed up implementation, support easy iteration and rebranding, and avoid building consent and compliance infrastructure themselves. According to Hospitable.com, the previous system had required three engineers full time for three months plus CTO involvement, while Courier was set up quickly and has kept ongoing maintenance very low.
