A Coupa Software Case Study
A global alternative asset manager with more than $200 billion AUM, a 100‑year history and 28,000 employees worldwide (about 2,500 in Australasia) needed to modernize its procure-to-pay (P2P) operations. Manual processes and disconnected systems across the Australian business were creating risk, inefficiency and compliance gaps that threatened profitability, so the local team launched a program to implement an integrated P2P solution and stronger financial controls.
The company implemented Coupa P2P with Supplier Information Management (project start July 2016, go‑live March 2017 with Sydney/Melbourne pilots), rolling the platform out across Australia, onboarding 3,000+ suppliers and 150 users at go‑live. Flat‑file and API integrations to MRI and 1800BServe automated supplier, requisition, accrual, payment and “ok to pay” flows. Within 90 days post go‑live the solution delivered measurable improvements: 60% touchless invoices (2/3‑way match), 80% PO‑backed invoices, a 15‑day invoice‑to‑payment cycle and a 24‑hour target approval time.
