A publicly traded media company with more than 2,000 employees that publishes newspapers and operates 35 radio and 13 television stations across 12 states needed an easy-to-use platform to streamline expense report approvals and reduce maverick spend by enforcing pre-approved requisitions.

The company implemented Coupa for requisitioning, expense management, approvals, budgeting, POs, receiving, invoicing and reporting, integrated with PeopleSoft via automated flat-file exchanges over sFTP and cXML connections to major suppliers. Results included 800 expense and 400 eProcurement users at Go-Live, 175 additional expense licenses in three months, roughly 1,500 expense reports in the first quarter, over 200 custom real-time reports, and simplified supplier/account management across 130,000 GL accounts and 7,000 suppliers.
