Capitalizing on Internal Excellence with Coupa

Jabil, a global manufacturing solutions provider with more than 260,000 employees across 100 locations in 30 countries, recognized it lacked visibility into indirect spend. Procurement analysis revealed over $2 billion in addressable indirect spend and the need for a scalable solution that could integrate three separate SAP ERPs, improve governance and compliance, and secure cross-functional and executive buy-in to drive cost leadership and operational efficiency.

After a multi‑criteria selection, Jabil chose Coupa and, working closely with IT, completed an aggressive rollout beginning in June 2017—going live at 12 sites within six months and expanding to 125 sites (99% coverage). The Coupa deployment centralized spend management, increased electronic invoicing in China from 5% to over 50% in 18 months, and now covers 90% of spend with more than 1 million POs and 600,000 invoices processed; visibility into indirect spend grew from $2B to over $6B annually, delivering stronger governance, reduced maverick spend, and rapid ROI.
