Network Norway, a rapidly growing Norwegian telecommunications provider and the country’s 4th largest operator, needed a way to add mobility to its business communications services. To better serve SMB customers and compete in a mature PBX market, it wanted to reduce calling and roaming costs, simplify administration, and improve productivity across multiple devices.

CounterPath provided its Bria softphone solution for Network Norway’s Mobil IP offering, extending hosted IP PBX services to laptops, smartphones, and tablets over Wi‑Fi using SIP. The result was a differentiated mobile PBX service with strong adoption on tablets, over 60% of downloads, while helping customers call from their mobile number anywhere and reducing Network Norway’s roaming costs and overall operating expenses.
