Preview of the Altibox Case Study

Altibox - Customer Case Study

Altibox, a leading Norwegian triple-play provider, wanted to boost adoption of its voice services as customers increasingly relied on mobile voice apps instead of their home phone lines. To address this, Altibox looked for a way to mobilize its existing fixed VoIP service and give subscribers a more convenient, smartphone-based voice option. CounterPath provided the Bria softphone as part of the “Loop” service.

CounterPath’s Bria integrated with Altibox’s SIP-based IP-PBX and Broadsoft core network to deliver voice, voicemail, three-way calling, integrated contacts, call logs, and video calling over Wi‑Fi and mobile devices. Altibox launched Loop for existing voice subscribers, offering home-number portability and unlimited calling to Nordic countries while avoiding roaming charges. The service was downloaded by both iOS and Android users, with 60% of downloads on iOS and 40% on Android, helping Altibox drive adoption and support its broader mobile strategy.
