Marriott Re-platforming for the digital economy

Marriott International, a global lodging company with more than 4,200 properties worldwide, needed to replace its legacy infrastructure to better compete in the digital economy. IT leadership evaluated several NoSQL options and chose Couchbase based on peer recommendations and technical fit for high-volume, high-transaction use cases.

Marriott replatformed to Couchbase’s open-source, cloud-ready, document-oriented distributed database, which reduced application development costs, increased speed, and modernized their infrastructure. Today Marriott stores about 13 million documents, sustains roughly 200 transactions per second, and plans to expand the deployment.
